Gumpert Apollo... In a world of supercars...

Armed with an Audi-sourced 4.2 liter twin-turbo V8, which puts out an impressive 650 horsepower and 627 lb-ft. of torque. A Formula 1-inspired six-speed sequential transmission puts the power to the rear wheels and, thanks to its rapid-fire shifts, the Apollo hits 60 miles per hour in 3 seconds flat... More after the jump...

The Apollo’s chassis is more than just race car-inspired; it’s identical to that of the track-going version of the car. A tubular frame made of cro-moly steel integrates with a carbon fiber monocoque safety cell. Weight distribution sits at 42/58 percent to the front and rear, respectively, which Gumpert claims is the ideal weight ratio for a road-going race car... And i have no reasons to doubt him...
